Romans 8:1-11

  1. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
  2. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
  3. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
  4. That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
  5. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
  6. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
  7. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
  8. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
  9. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
  10. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
  11. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

II Peter 2

  1. But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
  2. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
  3. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
  4. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
  5. And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
  6. And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
  7. And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
  8. (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
  9. The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
  10. But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
  11. Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
  12. But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
  13. And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
  14. Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
  15. Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
  16. But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
  17. These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
  18. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
  19. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
  20. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
  21. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
  22. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Job 1:20-22

  1. Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
  2. And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
  3. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Psalm 107:8-9

  1. Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
  2. For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

Psalm 112

  1. Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
  2. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
  3. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
  4. Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
  5. A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
  6. Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
  7. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
  8. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
  9. He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. .
  10. The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

Matthew 13:1-23

  1. The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
  2. And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
  3. And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
  4. And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
  5. Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
  6. And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
  7. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
  8. But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
  9. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
  10. And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
  11. He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
  12. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
  13. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
  14. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
  15. For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
  16. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
  17. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them. Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
  18. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
  19. But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
  20. Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
  21. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
  22. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Matthew 5:43-48

  1. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
  2. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
  3. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
  4. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
  5. And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
  6. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 5:1-16

  1. And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
  2. And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
  3. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  4. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
  5. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
  6. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
  7. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
  8. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
  9. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
  10. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  11. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
  12. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
  13. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
  14. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
  15. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
  16. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

I John 1:5-10

  1. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
  2. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
  3. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
  4. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
  5. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  6. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Psalm 119:10-11

  1. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
  2. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

James 1:12-25

  1. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
  2. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
  3. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
  4. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
  5. Do not err, my beloved brethren.
  6. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
  7. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
  8. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
  9. For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
  10. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
  11. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
  12. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
  13. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
  14. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

James 1:2-4

  1. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
  2. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
  3. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

James 1:5-8

  1. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
  2. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
  3. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
  4. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Matthew 7:7-12

  1. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
  2. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
  3. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
  4. Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
  5. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
  6. Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
